| Responses from the symposium participants (Chapter 5, part 2): What has this experience meant for your ministry? - Be open. Listen, truly listen to others.
- I have reviewed my thoughts regarding catechesis. I have been reinforced in my ministry of catechesis.
- What I have heard has affected what I am doing. At the same time it has given me the chance to look at my ministry in a different light. I have learned from others ways I can improve what is happening in my parish. I'm not discouraged by our parish's shortcomings, for we all have them.
- For my ministry, I plan on meeting with our Diocesan Director to share with him my experience and to see where we go from here in the diocese and in the parish. I have seen areas where I need to give more emphasis.
- There is a willingness to go back to support the work of catechesis more vocally and consciously.
- I will be more intentional in promoting and enabling catechetical ministry for all in the parish. Most especially, I will be more affirming and supportive of our catechetical leaders.
- I will approach my ministry with some fresh perspective and renewed enthusiasm.
- It means I am more confident in my approach and style of leadership with others. It means I realize more than ever the importance of life-giving relationships in my life.
- I will be looking for ways to enhance adult catechesis, rather than to limit focus on children, adolescents, and pre-sacrament programs for parents.
- I see the parish as a whole community and I am one with them. Programs, etc., are developed in and through the community.
- I have a desire to talk with others about catechesis.
- There is new energy to stay with the struggle of evangelization of people, and new energy to do more reflection on my own spirituality and my responsibility to live as a disciple of the Lord.
- I will be more proactive in helping to determine the direction our parish needs to take.
- My ministry will change direction in the area of catechesis. I need to develop stronger adult education opportunities in my parish.
- This experience affirms my ministry, tells me to do more of what I do, and to listen more and pray more.
