Doing Something For Lent
This week my child learned about Lent. Her book said that Lent was a special time for praying and doing good works. It also said that Lent should be thought of as a positive experience. I was a little confused by this as I was remembering Lent as a time of "giving things up." I used to give up candy, cookies etc.
The Sadlier Faith Alive at Home page had a drawing for my daughter and I to color. It was a drawing of a tree and some rocks. It said to imagine that this was the place where Jesus prayed and that we were there with Jesus.
It was a very beautiful prayer and much better than giving up candy!!
