Hot Cross Buns

For the past several years I have taken hot cross buns to my son's religion class. We always enjoy eating the buns as well as talking about their symbolism in the season of Lent.

Our conversation always leads to a discussion of eating and fasting and how our sacrifices could be of help to someone who does not have food. The children enjoy the hot cross buns and our parish soup kitchen always gets a donation.
