The Easter Vigil

My children taught me a religion lesson! I had never attended an Easter Vigil. I usually attended Easter Mass on Sunday morning.

My seventh and eight grade children convinced me to go with them to the Easter Vigil. It was beautiful. I never realized how powerful the connection is between Baptism and Resurrection.

At the Easter vigil there were several members of the RCIA who were baptized, confirmed, and received communion for the first time.

It was just wonderful to watch the Parish community congratulating them. On the way home my children and I decided to renew our Baptism promises at home on Easter Sunday.

We renewed our promises and said that we believed in God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; we rejected sin and we blessed ourselves with Easter water, It is a custom we plan to continue.
