A Funeral for a Snake Recently our family went on a Nature walk. We loaded up the truck with our bikes and drove out into the country. We all enjoyed the beautiful scenery. The trees and the flowers were beautiful. We also saw squirrels, frogs, and birds. It was a wonderful experience to enjoy the beauty of God's creation as a family. But then it happened! My seven-year-old daughter spotted a baby snake. My husband checked it out to make sure that it was not dangerous. It not only was not dangerous; it was very dead. Truthfully, this was Monica's first experience with death. We brought the snake home. At home Monica proceeded to clean the snake and to prepare it for its funeral. Monica informed the family that she wanted to bury the snake so that it could go up to heaven where it belonged with God. Monica was very proud of her snake burial and I was oh so proud of my little girl. Is there favorite pet who has died and for whom you would like to offer up a prayer?
