Grace Before Meals

In our house we still find time to come to the dinner table every night. I know that there are some families who rarely have time to share a meal with each other. Thank God that every night we pray together around the table.

Over the years our children have learned many prayers which can be said as Grace before meals. It is most touching as each of our children insists on offering his or her own thanks. But it is our child in kindergarten who is always the most insistent.

Regardless of who leads the prayer before meals, she always insists that we say her prayer of thanks before eating.

Thank you God for the world so sweet.
Thank you God for the food we eat.
Thank you God for the birds that sing.
Thank you God for everything!

I don't think that any member of my family will ever forget this wonderful prayer.
