A Quiet Time With Jesus
I started "Quiet Time with Jesus." Actually it was one of the Faith Alive at Home Activities in my daughter's third grade religion book. First we made a prayer mat on which to sit. We took a folded newspaper and covered it with contact paper. Then we sat down in a quiet place. We were very still. I asked my son and daughter to imagine that they were looking at Jesus. Then we slowly said the name "Jesus" as we breathed out. Sometimes we just sit quietly and listen to the sounds around us. I never realized how beautifully the birds in our back yard sang.

At other times I play some music softly. These times have become precious peaceful moments for us all.

Pray together: When we are busy and tired, Jesus, help us to hear you whisper "Come and be alone with me."
