Change of Seasons
I know that there are some people who live in places where it is summer
all year long. Well, we live in the northeast of the United States. Now
is the time of year when the hill comes alive with color. I suppose that
is why I was so happy when my son came home with his religion assignment.
It was for a nature walk. My husband, myself, my son and the dog bundled
up and went off into the woods. It is difficult to describe the glory
of the color. I guess the saying "it takes your breath away" is certainly
true, because we walked along in comfortable silence for the longest time.
Then the strangest
thing happened. My husband started singing! He sang some of the traditional
Catholic hymns that we had grown up with such as, "Holy God, We Praise
Thy Name." We each took turns starting a hymn to see if the others could
join in. At the end of the day we had collected some beautiful leaves,
and some wonderful memories.
