An Easter Prayer Service
My family and I have enjoyed the celebration of the Easter Vigil. This year I was delighted to discover an Easter Prayer service based on the Vigil in my son's religion book, Coming to God's Word. It begins by having the family gather around an Easter candle. The leader lights the candle as he or she says:

Leader: Christ our light

All: Thanks be to God.

Leader: Rejoice, Heavenly Powers! Sing, Choirs of Angels! Exult all creation, around God's Throne. Jesus Christ our King is Risen! Sound the Trumpet of Salvation!

All: Jesus Christ our King is Risen!

(The Leader takes a bowl of water and a sprinkler to the front of the room As the leader sprinkles each person, the room, and in my family even the pets were blessed, everyone responds: Jesus Christ our King is Risen!)

Leader: Bless this room.

All: Jesus Christ our King is Risen!

Leader: Bless this person.

All: Jesus Christ our King is Risen!

Close by singing an Easter Alleluia!
