| To Parents and Catechists: This week's resource uses a prayer shield to help youngsters pray for all of their families and friends. | A Story of Saint Patrick Saint Patrick left his homeland to bring the Good News of God's Kingdom of love to others. He trusted that God's love would protect him on his journey. Patrick went to Ireland, a land where many people did not know about God. He used a shamrock to teach them about the three Persons in one God. Pray in Your Heart God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit, I believe in you. I will be like Saint Patrick. I will bring the Good News of your Kingdom of love to others. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit Pray God's Word God, you protect those who love you. Your love protects us like a shield. From Psalm 5:11, 12 Make and decorate a prayer shield like the sample shown. Listen to God's Word Jesus says, "God's Kingdom of love is like a tiny seed that grows and becomes a great big tree. The tree has such large branches that birds come and make their nests and live in it." From Mark 4:30-32 Pray Jesus, I believe in God's Kingdom of love. Help me to grow in love for God, for others, and for myself. My Prayer Goes On Share the Good News on your prayer shield with your family and friends. Write their names and yours on the tree branches. Tell God how you feel about living in God's Kingdom of love. Cut out this shamrock. Glue it on your shield to remind you that you believe in God. www.sadlier.com/main.htm Copyright © 2004 William H. Sadlier, Inc. All rights reserved. |
