| To Parents and Catechists: This prayer experience prayerfully guides your young people through the most important time of the Church year, the Easter Triduum from Holy Thursday evening to Easter Sunday evening. | Praying with Jesus: The Easter Triduum Holy Thursday Evening Thank you, Jesus, for the gift of the Eucharist. Good Friday Thank you, Jesus, for suffering and dying for me. Easter Vigil Thank you, Jesus, for rising to new life. We rejoice in the new life we share. Listen to God's Word During the meal, Jesus took a piece of bread, gave it to his disciples. "Take it," he said, "this is my body." Then he took the cup, gave thanks to God, and handed it to them, and they all drank from it. From Mark 14:22-23 Jesus was handed over to be crucified. He was led away and carrying the cross by himself went to "The Place of the Skull." There they crucified him. From John 19:16-18 Early on Sunday morning, women went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been taken away from the entrance. An angel told the women, "Jesus is not here. He has been raised from the dead." From Matthew 28:1, 6 www.sadlier.com/main.htm Copyright © 2004 William H. Sadlier, Inc. All rights reserved. |
