To Parents and Catechists: This session celebrates the joy we have as Easter people.

Let Us Sing Alleluia: Easter Season

Listen to God's Word
You have changed my sadness into a joyful dance. You have taken away my sorrow and surrounded me with joy. From Psalm 30:11

Pray
Pray quietly in your heart. Talk to Jesus about how his great love for us surrounds us with joy.

Prepare for a Joyful Celebration
Plan a special celebration to honor Jesus, our Risen Lord. Choose an Alleluia song to sing. Practice the actions for the celebration and go over the song you will sing. Prepare Easter treats to share at the end of the procession.

Our Alleluia Procession

Leader: The sun rises to announce a new day.

All: We are an Easter people, and Alleluia is our song. (Move your arms to show the sun is rising over dancing waters.)

Leader: The waters of Baptism give us new life.

All: We are an Easter people, and Alleluia is our song. (Move your arms to show water flowing down from a waterfall.)

Reader: Let us pause, and listen to God's Word. Jesus drew near to his disciples and said to them, "Go, then, to all peoples everywhere and make them my disciples. Baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Teach them to obey everything I have commanded you. And I will be with you always, to the end of time." From Matthew 28:18-20

All: Jesus Christ, we are an Easter people, and Alleluia is our song.
Leader: Let us sing our Easter Alleluia song. Express your joy in dance and actions. Thank Jesus in the quiet of your heart for his promise to be with us until the end of time.

My Prayer Goes On
Keep a special Alleluia in your heart during the Easter season. Whatever you do, do it in praise of Jesus, our Risen Lord and say or sing "Alleluia" in your heart.
