| To Parents and Catechists: The feast of the Body and Blood of Christ, the Sunday after Trinity Sunday, is a great time to share this experience. Create a quiet atmosphere, and help the youngsters to meditate and celebrate the gift of Jesus in the Eucharist. | We Celebrate Jesus, Our Bread of Life Listen to God's Word At the Last Supper, Jesus took a piece of bread, gave a prayer of thanks, broke it, and gave it to his friends. "Take it," he said, "this is my Body." Over the cup he said, "This is my Blood." From Mark 14:22Ð24 Imagine and Pray Be very still. Imagine that you are with Jesus at the Last Supper. What does the room look like? Who is there? What do you hear? What does Jesus say to you? What do you say to Jesus? Jesus says, "I am the Bread of Life." Jesus is always with us in our churches in the Blessed Sacramentthe Eucharist. A light burning near the tabernacle reminds us that Jesus is there. Take a few minutes to "visit" Jesus, our Bread of Life. Sit quietly. Be very still. Talk to Jesus. I give thanks for Jesus, our Bread of Life. Color the lamp near the tabernacle to show that Jesus is there. Return to Spirituality Resources Index www.sadlier.com/main.htm Copyright © 2002 William H. Sadlier, Inc. All rights reserved. |
