| To Parents and Catechists: This experience invites young
people into a creation reflection and a prayerful nature walk. If it cannot be shared outdoors, provide nature objects for the reflection. |
Rejoicing In Creation How long has it been since you "opened" God's gift of creation and exclaimed, "Ohhh!" or "Look at that!"? A poet once wrote that we can only respect the earth when we treasure every part of it from a grain of sand to a mountain capped with snow. Then we can say, "This is my inheritance. I cherish it with my entire being." Listen to God's Word Be glad and rejoice forever in what I create.
Isaiah 65:18 Reflecting on God's Words Choose one simple gift of creation to treasure. It might be a stone or a tree, a plant or a puddle of rainwater. Sit quietly and hold your gift in your hands, your arms, or your attentive glance. See with your hands and eyes every detail that makes your treasure unique. How does it look? feel? smell? "speak"? Let the stone or the tree, the plant or the puddle speak to you of its Maker. Consider how you will rejoice in the gift. Return to Spirituality Resources Index
