Parents and Catechists: The stories from the Bible teach us how to
live. Use these stories to help youngsters to talk about how to live
as followers of Jesus. |
Living
as Our Best Selves
Jesus taught us to
take care of the needs of others. He said that he would come again at
the end of the world to judge everyone. Those who help others and do God's
will shall receive eternal life with God in heaven. The story is found
in the Bible in Matthew 25:31-45. We care for others when we practice
the Works of Mercy.
You
Did It for Me
In the spaces below draw how you can follow Jesus' teaching to help others.
Under each drawing write what you are doing in the words of Jesus. For
example: I was hungry and you fed me.
Stories
to Remember
Here are some more stories from Scripture. Talk about what they mean to
your own family.
Once, when Jesus
was teaching, some people brought a woman to Jesus. She had done something
wrong. Jesus said to her: "I forgive you. Do not sin anymore." (from
John 8:11)
On the cross, when
Jesus was dying, he said: "Father, forgive them. They do not know what
they are doing." (from Luke 22:34)
A long time before
Jesus lived, Micah, a great prophet of Israel, preached about peace and
justice. This is what Micah said: "This is all that God asks of you: that
you live justly, love tenderly, and walk humbly with your God." (from
Micah 6:8)
