To Parents and Catechists: Jesus performed many miracles. The miracle in which Jesus fed 5,000 people with just a few loaves of bread and a few fish is a favorite of many people. Spend some time enjoying it with your youngsters.

Jesus Feeds the Five Thousand

Read this story in the Bible in Matthew 14:13-21. Then do the activity.

These statements tell what happened in this story. Number them to put the story in the correct order.

_____ Andrew said, "There is a boy who has five loaves of bread and two fish, but that is not enough for all these people!"

_____ Jesus asked Philip, "Where can we buy enough food to feed all these people?"

_____ About five thousand people followed Jesus to listen to him. They stayed all day and they were very hungry.

_____ The disciples passed out the food. Everyone was fed.
