| To Parents and Catechists: This experience provides the opportunity for the young people to unmask negative actions so they will reflect their best selves in an image of GodŐs love to others. Have available liquid soap and bubble wands. (These can be made with wire or with two straws with string between as shown in the illustration.) | Celebrating Our Best Selves Listen to God's Word Saint Paul told God's friends, "Get rid of your old self, which made you live
as you used to. Your hearts and minds must be made completely new. You
must put on a new self, which is created in God's likeness." From
Ephesians 4:22-24
Reflection Masks Read the words on the masks. Talk to God about how these feelings or actions can hide your best self from others. Ask God to help you unmask these feelings or actions. Cross out each mask to show that you want others to see your best self. Then pray the following words. Jesus, I will take off the masks I sometimes wear. I will try to be honest, respectful, and fair. I will show to others the best self I can be, For that is the person I want others to see! Listen to God's Word
Jesus says, "If you live in God's light, you will be bright all over."
From Luke 11:36
In God's Light Make giant soap bubbles. Watch them as they gloat into the sun's light. See the way they shimmer and glisten and reflect different colors. Imagine you are one of the bubbles and God's light is shining through you. Think about how you shimmer and glisten and bring the beauty of God's love to others. My Prayer Goes On God, help me to reflect the light of your love to others. www.sadlier.com/main.htm
